3/25 – 3/28

Popcorn Words:  could, would, should.

Math:  We continued to work in Unit 4.  The Kinders worked on writing partner equations.  We even did a “test” of addition and subtraction number sentences so Mrs. Stutz can see how we are doing with this concept.

Writers Workshop:  The kindergartners are really enjoying their Non-fiction writing unit.  They have worked hard on writing All About books.  We finished an All About Chickens book and have started an All About Bears book.  The kindergartners are really doing a GREAT job of finding information on animals, organizing the information and then writing it in a book form.  We will continue to explore this genre of writing when we return to school this week.

Readers Workshop:  This week we worked on discovering the differences between Non-fiction and fiction genres in books.  The Kindergartners have done a GREAT job with exploring these different books.  We also worked really hard on our reading stamina this week.  Our class got all the way up to 24 minutes of reading to ourselves!!  WOW!!  Our goal was to reach 20 minutes….we went ABOVE and BEYOND!!  I am so proud of these kinders!!!

Pajama Day Fun:  We had lots of fun celebrating the joy of reading together.  We loved traveling to the other Kindergarten classrooms and getting a chance to explore their classroom libraries.  Check us out in the pictures below as we enjoyed our relaxing reading in our classroom in our jammies.
