Thank you to all of the supporters and volunteers with our Kindergarten Olympics!  The Kinders had a BLAST!!  We were so lucky with the weather.

End of the Year:  The end of the year can often bring LOTS of anxiety in children.  My goal is to help the Kinders feel proud of their accomplishments this year and celebrate our time together.  So while we may have some fun activities during our last days together, the focus is on how much we have grown.  This week I have started to incorporate a book each day that explains what it is going on in our classroom or building during these last weeks of school.  We have reads books this week about:

• End of year testing – Designed to explain how they will get a chance to show Mrs. Stutz how much they have learned this year.  Helps them understand why they may get pulled to do some one-on-one assessments.
• Independent Work Packets – Designed to explain how independent work time is important during our testing times.
• Friendships – Designed to help students see how their friendships were made and how to keep them.  We also reread our All About Our Class book and each Kinder got to take home their page.
• Classroom Cleanup – Designed to help students be part of getting the classroom ready for new students next year.  Helps to explain how the classroom starts to look different and even our building.

Math:  This week we wrapped up our Math curriculum for the year with taking our last Math test.  They were so excited to be able to bring their Math workbook home to keep.

Readers Workshop:  We have been having fun practicing all of our superpowers as readers this week.  The Kinders enjoyed using their character voices in reading books this week as well.

Writers Workshop:  This week we have done some fun review of writing that we learned this school year.  It was fun to revisit all of the ways we have learned to write this year!  From small moment stories to information writing.
